Many of America’s biggest automakers are pumping the brakes on their manufacturing of electric vehicles, with Ford being one of the latest to slash production of their F-150 electric pickup. American drivers skeptical of full electric cars are now leaning toward hybrids, which saw their sales rise 65% in 2023. EVs are not just struggling to attract buyers because of their prices; recent extreme weather across the country showed electric cars struggling to perform in the cold.
