Hennessey’s Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Will Push Up To 1,700 Horsepower

What we know for sure is that the Hennessey Demon 1700 will be very limited in numbers – only a dozen will be made. Each will be priced at around $200,000, excluding the donor vehicle.

Hennessey touts that the Demon 1700 should be able to run a quarter mile in 7.9 seconds with an exit speed of over 175 mph. That’s a full second quicker than the stock Demon 170’s NHRA-certified 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph, even beating the Rimac Nevera’s 8.25-second quarter-mile sprint, the current fastest electric vehicle.

Not announced in the video (but mentioned in the press release) is the establishment of the Hennessey Special Operations (HSO). The new division will build ultra-exclusive, ultra-high-horsepower vehicles, like the Demon 1700, limited to making only 15-20 vehicles per year.
