The Boring Company Switches State of Incorporation, Leaves Delaware

The Boring Company has changed its state of incorporation. According to registration records, Delaware is no longer the company’s home, and the tunneling company is now based in Nevada.

Data discovered by @WR4NYGov/X showed that as of March 2023, The Boring Company is registered in Nevada. This transition is strategically important, since the company’s main activities are now concentrated in the state. The Boring Co. is building an extensive loop in Las Vegas called the Vegas Loop. In the spring of 2023, the company presented a new expansion plan. The proposed new map showed dozens of tunnels traversing the city to reach more casinos, shopping areas, the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus, and even residential areas. Documents show that the proposed new transportation system consists of 69 stations and 65 miles of tunnels.

The Boring Co. already has several Vegas Loop stops. The tunnels serve thousands of people visiting the Las Vegas Convention Center. Once expanded, the Vegas Loop will carry more than 90,000 passengers per hour.

Formerly, the Boring Co. was registered in Delaware, like some other Elon Musk´s companies. A few days ago it became known that Neuralink changed its state of registration from Delaware to Nevada. It has now become known that the Boring Co. also changed the state. Additionally, last week, Musk announced that Tesla would hold a vote on whether to move the company’s legal base from Delaware to Texas. The move comes after Judge Katelyn McCormick of the Delaware Chancery Court ruled that Musk’s 2018 pay package was unreasonable.

Many Tesla investors, including investment firms, disagree with Judge McCormick’s decision. Investors already voted on Musk’s compensation package several years ago, so the judge’s decision raises a lot of outrage.
