Toyota recalls 381,00 Tacomas over rear axle issues. See if your truck is included

The car manufacturer announced Tuesday that Toyota is recalling 381,000 Tacoma trucks from 2022 and 2023 over rear axle safety issues.

The welding debris left on the ends of the rear axle assembly during manufacturing could cause certain retaining nuts to loosen and fall off, potentially causing a part to separate from the axle, according to Toyota. If separation occurs, this can impact the vehicle’s stability and brake performance.

Toyota dealers will inspect the recalled vehicles’ rear axle assembly and retighten the axle retaining nuts for free. If axle components are damaged, they will be repaired or replaced. Customers will be notified about this issue by mail by late April 2024.
