Recall Alert: Nissan Sentra – Kelley Blue Book

Nissan has issued a recall covering 9,645 Sentra sedans from model year 2024 because they can lose drive power suddenly.

Nissan tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the plant that produces the Sentra recently replaced some Sentra sedans’ continuously variable automatic transmissions (CVTs) during production. During the retrofit, workers may not have properly connected the left-hand driveshaft to the CVT on some cars.

That could cause the shafts to slip out of alignment, making the car lose drive power.

Dealers will inspect the driveshafts to ensure they are correctly connected and replace both the shaft and the CVT if the connection is not secure. Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to determine if your car is one of them.
